CARE GUIDANCE
Each piece in The Backyard Legacy collection is built to last for decades when properly cared for. Below is general maintenance guidance that applies across our collection. For piece-specific instructions, refer to the manufacturer documentation included with your order.
FABRIC & CUSHIONS
- Brush off loose dirt before it sets in
- Spot-clean with mild soap and lukewarm water
- For deeper cleaning, use Sunbrella-approved cleaners
- Allow to air-dry fully before storing
- Store cushions indoors or in waterproof containers during off-season
ALUMINUM & POWDER-COATED FRAMES
- Rinse with fresh water periodically to remove salt, pollen, and debris
- Wipe down with mild soap and a soft cloth
- Avoid abrasive cleaners or steel wool
- Touch up minor scratches with manufacturer-supplied paint pens where available
WICKER & WOVEN FIBRES
- Vacuum or brush off loose debris monthly
- Wipe with a damp cloth and mild soap as needed
- Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sun on uncovered pieces
- Store under cover during harsh winter conditions
WROUGHT IRON & STEEL
- Inspect annually for rust spots
- Wipe down with a damp cloth and mild soap
- Apply paste wax once per year to protect the finish
- Touch up any chips immediately to prevent oxidation
TEAK & WOOD
- Allow to weather naturally to a silver-grey patina, or treat with teak oil to retain original colour
- Clean with mild soap and water, scrubbing gently with a soft brush
- Avoid power washers; they damage the grain
FIRE FEATURES
- Cover when not in use to protect burners
- Clean burner ports periodically with a soft brush
- Check gas connections seasonally
- Refer to manufacturer documentation for ignition system maintenance

DELIVERY OPTIONS
Every order placed with The Backyard Legacy includes complimentary white-glove delivery across all 50 US states. No premium upcharges, no surprises at checkout.
You can choose from three delivery tiers based on what suits your home:
Outdoor Drop-Off
We deliver your piece outside your home, at the curb or driveway. Ideal if you prefer to handle placement yourself.
Room or Patio of Choice
We bring your piece indoors or outdoors to a specific room or patio of your choice. Best for heavier items and larger pieces.
Room or Patio of Choice with Light Assembly and Packaging Removal
We bring your piece to your desired location, complete light assembly such as attaching legs or minor adjustments, and remove all packaging so you can enjoy your space straight away.
SHIPPING
Every piece in our collection is built to order by American craftsmen. Standard lead times are 2–12 weeks from order confirmation, depending on the maker and finish selections. You will receive tracking information once your order leaves the workshop.
RETURNS
Return policies vary by supplier. Some of our makers accept returns within 30 days of delivery; others operate on a final-sale basis given the made-to-order nature of their craft.
If a product is eligible for return, this will be clearly stated on its product page. If you do not see a return note on a product page, please contact us at hello@thebackyardlegacy.com before placing your order and we will confirm the return terms for that specific piece.

Warranty Information
MANUFACTURER WARRANTY
Every product in The Backyard Legacy collection is covered by the original manufacturer's warranty, which varies by maker and product category. Warranty terms are documented in the materials included with your order and registered directly with the manufacturer upon delivery.
WHAT'S TYPICALLY COVERED
- Structural integrity of frames and joinery
- Manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship
- Fabric fading and pilling within stated periods (Sunbrella fabrics carry a separate 5-year limited warranty)
WHAT'S NOT COVERED
- Damage from improper use, neglect, or accidental impact
- Normal wear and aesthetic changes from outdoor exposure
- Damage from extreme weather events (hurricanes, hail, flooding)
- Modifications made to the product after delivery
